Description

ClO₂ or Chlorine Dioxide is a high oxidizer with general applications in water treatment, disinfection, and industrial processes. Unlike chlorine, Chlorine Dioxide does not produce harmful by-products like trihalomethanes, and for this reason, it is generally considered to be much safer and effective for many applications. It has very high solubility in water, possessing superior power to kill bacteria, viruses, and pathogenic organisms; hence, this chemical disinfectant is preferred for drinking water, wastewater, and industrial equipment disinfection applications.

Chlorine Dioxide is used industrially in pulp bleaching, food processing, and surface disinfection because it is effective with a lesser concentration and removes biofilm and organic impurities. It is also used in oil and gas for bacterial control in drilling systems and in commercial deodorizing and sanitizing.

Despite all these advantages, Chlorine Dioxide should be handled with caution because in its gaseous state, it is a reactive and explosive agent. It is thus generated mostly on-site by precursor chemicals to ensure safe handling.

Chlorine dioxide Characteristic:

Open the chlorine dioxide effervescent disinfectant tablets and pour them into a plastic container or porcelain vessel containing 10 times the amount of water (it is strictly forbidden to pour water into the tablets), stir and dissolve, then cover and leave for 25-30 minutes to obtain the chlorine dioxide solution, then refer to GB26366 “Chlorine dioxide disinfectant health standards”, in the disinfection of drinking water and secondary water supply, the chlorine dioxide concentration is 0.5~2mg/L, The user can also increase or decrease the use concentration according to GB5749 “Sanitary Standard for Drinking Water” depending on the water quality.

Chlorine dioxide Application:

1. Disinfectant for external use, not for oral use. Keep out of reach of children.
2. If the chlorine dioxide content of this product is greater than 2000mg/L, it has a strong corrosive or bleaching effect on metal and fabric.
3. Chlorine dioxide comes into contact with skin, mucous membrane, or eyes, flush with water immediately and seek medical attention.
4, when preparing the original solution should use plastic containers or porcelain, add water first and then add tablets (it is strictly prohibited to pour water into the tablets), the operator should pay attention to personal protection, avoid direct skin contact with the concentrated solution.
